About Amie
Amie
Hi, I'm Amie, and I joined EYPDAS mid 2010. I'm employed to
help children, young people and their families/carers who may be
experiencing issues around drug and alcohol misuse.
I mainly carry out care-planned counselling and other
interventions working alongside other agencies and the families.
The support I offer to young people is based on harm reduction and
is always led by the young people themselves.

Quick fire Q&A.
- What does your job involve?
In short - I support young people on a
one to one basis around their drug use
What's the best thing about your job?
Building relationships with young
people, and knowing that maybe I can make an impact on their
lives!
What's the worst thing about it?
Getting parking tickets...and driving
from one side of Essex to the other.
What's your most embarrassing moment?
Blocking the toilet whilst my
boyfriend was there...FAIL!
What's the worst thing you've ever bought and
why?
A Westlife CD, just because everyone
else had one. And I hate Westflife...hate them so bad...
Where is your favourite holiday destination and
why?
Once I've traveled the world I'll let
you know.
Favourite book
The Time Travellers Wife.
Favourite film
I can't possibly pick only one!
Atonement, Green Mile, The Dark Knight.

One bit of advice someone gave you that you
couldn't live without?
Never go to bed on an argument.
Your motto for life?
If you truly want something in life
then you can get it (as long you're prepared to work your socks off
for it!)
