How can I get more information on drugs & their effects?

 

There are three main types of drugs. Each affects the body in a different way and a drug may fall into one or more of the categories. Mixing drugs from different categories increases their risks.

Stimulants

What do they do? Stimulants speed up the body's central nervous system which includes the brain and spinal cord. Both control how your body works.

How do they make you feel? They often make you feel energetic and confident and give you more stamina.

Depressants

What do they do? Depressants slow down the body's central nervous system.

How do they make you feel? To begin with you might feel euphoric and relaxed.

Hallucinogenics

What do they do? Hallucinogenic drugs affect the mind and all the body's senses.

How do they make you feel? You might hallucinate & feel like reality has been distorted.
