FRANK
FRANK is the national drugs and alcohol helpline which provides
help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service is free, and
operated by fully trained advisers.
FRANK provides a friendly, confidential and
non-judgemental service to anyone wanting help, information or
advice about drugs.
FRANK aims to give young people the skills and confidence they
need to reject drugs and offer parents the information they need to
talk to about drugs with their children. FRANK aims to reduce the
demand for drugs by providing people with the information they need
to make an informed decision about drugs. FRANK provides:
- Information on the risks of drugs, in order to
maintain non-use or prevent escalation of use.
- Advice to build resistance skills, to deal
with peer pressure and avoid risky situations; and advice for
parents, friends and family who are concerned about someone else's
drug use.
- Help to assist cessation of use - treatment
advice, online treatment, signposts to local treatment providers,
and where appropriate direct referrals to treatment.
